Located in the heart of Islington, the Angel Square project represents our largest and most complex Structural Alterations undertaking. This ambitious redevelopment transforms three interconnected blocks, previously surrounding a central courtyard, into a contemporary office space that exemplifies innovative design and high environmental standards. Notably, the building interfaces directly with Angel Underground Station, adding a layer of complexity to the construction.
Our scope of work included the partial demolition of the existing structure, followed by the construction of a new reinforced concrete raft slab, installation of underground drainage, and advanced waterproofing measures. We are also responsible for constructing new reinforced concrete cores, reconstructing columns and slabs, infilling the central courtyard, encasing existing columns, and adding two additional floors atop the existing structure. This meticulous approach ensures both structural integrity and aesthetic appeal. This project showcases our capability to execute complex structural alterations under challenging conditions, emphasising our commitment to quality, sustainability, and innovation. Upon completion, Angel Square will stand as a landmark of contemporary architecture, enhancing the urban fabric of Islington while meeting high environmental aspirations.
